A community of faith formation. The biblical concept of family is inclusive, cross generational, and includes more people who are not simply connected by birth, marriage, or adoption. It is the community where we enact the love of Jesus, extending that welcome in love, service, peace, justice, action, and solidarity. This is where faith formation, the life-long work of the entire community to grow in the language of our faith and follow Jesus, happens. Classes, small group ministries, workshops, worship, and service are all part of faith formation.
SACRED CONVERSATIONS ON FAITH AND RACE
Sacred Conversations on Faith & Race is a collaboration of The Congregational Church, UCC in Tryon Tryon, St. Luke C.M.E. Church, Tryon United Methodist Church, Tryon Presbyterian Church, that is open to all.
We meet on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month on Zoom.
Readings, short videos, or discussion topics will be distributed prior to the meeting. Preparation is not required to participate in these discussions, but is encouraged.
Discussions topics will be chosen to help us dig deeper in these sacred conversations, and move us towards working for personal and societal transformation and justice.
Bring open minds and hearts as we discuss race and faith, working to build the beloved community with God. We are always open to collaborating with other faith communities as interest is expressed. We look forward to continuing this ongoing, community wide conversation.
JOY & JUSTICE BOOK CLUB
The Joy & Justice book club rotates between fiction and non-fiction books. Typically we read and discuss one book per quarter.
